About the Event


Do you think building / flying drones can be fun? Of course, we all do. In fact, the idea of flying surveillance cameras, robotic companions and even unmanned aircraft carrying supplies around the planet is swiftly becoming mainstream so much that there are rules and regulations being imposed in place to monitor the high level of activities taking place.
You are welcome to this novel event where you will learn the unique art of drone building.
Anyone above the age of 12Yrs. who is interested in drones can attend the event.

The session will initiate with a welcome speech, followed by introduction session of orators.
We have orators coming from some eminent institute of India which will definately be a value add for the audience.
Introduction of Rotary wing aircrafts - Principles of flight

Introduction of Rotary wing aircrafts - Principles of flight
As Wilber Wright rightly said "It's possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skills"
During this section participants will learn and gain knowledge about the basic principles behind flying.
Particpants will learn they mystery behind rotary wing aircrafts.
11:30am - 12:30pm
Overview of Quad components - Design and fabrication of Quad
Having known about rotary aircrafts, Now students can have an overview of how quad copters work.
Participants will learn the design principles behind a Quad.
Lunch
12:30pm - 01:30pm
Catered Lunch for participants
Participants can enjoy catered lunch, and also have interaction with co-participants.
Discussions are always a better way of exchanging ideas and improve your communication skills.
Quad Building,Calibration and Testing - Troubleshooting

Quad Building, Calibration and Testing
This is the actual phase when participants will be building their drone, after gaining the theoretical knowledge.
Our experts will help get the work done with utmost precision, guiding the participants throughout.

Trobleshooting and Q/A
Building something is very easy, but troubleshooting it is difficult, so this is the time when participants will be Troubleshooting their built drone for any errors or faults.
Also any of the doubts that participants have will be cleared during this section.

Fly Your Drone
After all the hard work and efforts, let your drone set free for its first ever flight.
Although controlling a drone seems easy, it also requires some skills which will be polished during this section.

Speakers


We have our technical team coming from eminent institutes of India. All of the speakers possess great in-depth knowledge of the content they are going to deliver.

  • Apurva Godbole

    Apurva is an IIT Bombay alumnus who graduated with B. Tech in Civil Engineering in 2008. He further worked with Credit Suisse in Mumbai for two years and in Hong Kong for two and a half years in Investment Banking Division. His last designation in Credit Suisse Hong Kong was Assistant Vice President. He is the principal trainer of the workshop.

    Dinesh Sain

    Dinesh is an IIT Bombay alumnus. He graduated with a B. Tech. in Aerospace Engineering in 2014. He has significant experience in building fixed wing planes and RC hovercraft and has won awards in competitions across India. These include Trailblazer - Quarx, BITS Goa; Blitzkreig - Techfest, IIT Bombay and Zephyr, Aero Dept., IIT Bombay among others.

    Keval Ajmeri

    Keval Ajmeri is a Mechanical Engineer with a strong vision of building the ecosystem of drones in India. A born natural teacher, he drives the educational content generation department for BuildUrDrone Workshop. Keeping abreast of the latest developments in the drone space and firing up people's imagination for various potential cutting edge drone applications takes up his a good portion of his mind space.
